Lincoln NE Local Group 173 of Amnesty International USA, invites you to our first Human Rights Book Group discussion of 2016. Please meet with us as we discuss “Half the Sky” by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn at 7:00 p.m, Thursday, January 28, at Indigo Bridge Book Store, 701 P ST., Suite 102, Lincoln, Ne.
“Half the Sky” presents powerful narratives of women globally who have suffered forcible and systemic gender violence. It also suggests ways we can respond in a meaningful way to counteract this violence. This is particularly timely, as author Sheryl WuDunn will be presenting a lecture at the E.N. Thompson Forum at UNL on February 2, 2016. To access a free ticket to this lecture, please go to http://enthompson.unl.edu/ticket.shtml.
Discounted copies of the book will be available for participating book group members at Indigo Bridge. If they sell out, you can also request that they order you a discounted copy: http://www.indigobridgebooks.com/contact/.
Please join us!
